The agogo donation store has a new look

Three phones show the new store: the home screen with two smiling agogos and the title Adote um Agogo, the two ways to give, and the choice between a one-time and a monthly donation

Along with the website, our donation store has been renewed too. Adote um Agogo (Adopt an Agogo) now shares the look of the site, with real photos of the deliveries and clearer wording about what each gift covers.

Agogo means grandfather or grandmother in Chichewa. In Chiringani, 68 agogos receive a food basket and health care every month. The store keeps that care going.

Good to know

The store is in Portuguese and takes donations in Brazilian reais (BRL). If you are giving from outside Brazil, the Donate page lists the other ways to give.

How to give through the store

  1. Go to doar.duassementes.org.

  2. Choose the amount:

Store screen with the two ways to give: a R$ 60 share (Cota) and a R$ 600 full basket (Cesta completa), each with its own button

  3. Choose a monthly (doação mensal) or a one-time (doação única) donation.

The share page in the store, with the options Doação Única (one-time) and Doação mensal (monthly) and the button Doar agora (Give now)

  4. Complete the payment in the store.

This is a donation: no product is shipped to you. A monthly donation can be cancelled at any time through the link in each donation email, or by writing to duassementes.malawi@gmail.com.

Where the money goes

The amount is sent to the mission’s account in Malawi. The team buys the food from local shops, with receipts, and delivers a basket to each agogo every month. The financial reports for each period are on the Transparency page.
